Bernstein Family
Knowledge of the Bernstein and their descendants come principally from two sources: Clan Linn and Clan Linn in the Twentieth Century. The former was published by Dr. George Wilds Linn in 1905 and cataloged Linn descendants up to 1905. In 1993, Roger Linn published Clan Linn in the Twentieth Century, updating the 1905 book through the twentieth century, with particular focus on Roger's line of the family (the descendants of Frank Linn and Libbie Walker).
Through these sources we know that the Bernstein family traces its American roots to Jean Bernstein and Minnie Simon, who immigrated from Romania to Elgin, Illinois and from either Poland or Austria to Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1900.
