Hurricane deck amidship was 180 feet long. It was used as a promenade deck for first class passengers. Maiden voyage: Bremen-Southampton-New York, June 24, 1881. Sunk by collision with steamer Crathie in North Sea, January 30, 1895, and went down within a few minutes with the loss of over 330 lives. Sister ships: Fulda and Werra.
